The value of Indonesia tin and copper exports decreased in March partly due to weakening of global demand coupled with decrease of prices, Central Statistic Agency (BPS) said on Tuesday.
The Agency said that export of tin was US$206,714,759 in March, a 1.02 percent decrease from February.
The agency's Director of Statistic Distribution Satwiko Darmesto said that the decline of tin export was partly due to the decrease of tin prices in international market.
BPS data shows the price of tin was at U$2,299 per kilogram in March, after reaching $2,429 in February, and $2,144 in January.
It said that exports of lead increased by 7.10 percent to $721,286 in March.
The shipping of the commodity to overseas in the first three months decreased by 15.52 percent to $536,148,122, he said.
He also said that copper exports in March decreased by 22.20 percent to $239,394,376.
The exports of the commodity from January to March also decreased by 29.36 percent to $825,511,362.
"The decrease of copper exports is partly resulted from the weakening of global demand on the commodity amid the gloomy global economy," he told Petromindo.Com.
The price of copper increased to $8,471.00 in March from $8,441.00 in February and $8,040,00 in January, said Satwiko.
