Tin exports down in March

Indonesia's refined tin exports in March fell to 6,576 tons from a restated 6,624 tons in the previous month, according to data released by the nation?s trade ministry on Tuesday.

According to the latest data issued by the Ministry of Trade, in the January through March period, Indonesia exported 19,974.6 tons.

Indonesia exported 99,287 metric tons of refined tin in 2009, a 13 percent increase from 88,161 tons a year earlier.

More than three quarters of the tin exports were sent to Singapore. The rest was exported to Malaysia, South Korea, the Netherlands, China, Japan, India, Hong Kong and Taiwan.(*)
