Tin exports lower in November: Official

Tin exports from Indonesia decreased 39 percent to 8,295 metric tons of metal in November from 13,509 tons in the previous month, a trade ministry official said on Wednesday.

Indonesia exported 8,295 metric tons of the metal worth $131.45 million last month, Export Director for Mining Products at The Ministry Hartojo Agus Tjahjono said.

The country shipped 82,970 tons of the metal worth $1.17 billion from February to November, he said. He didn't explain the cause of the last month's drop, nor gave figure on last year's exports as a comparison.

PT Timah, Indonesia's largest tin producer, shipped 3,993 tons of the metal last month, bringing the company's total exports in February through November to 46,559 tons, Tjahjono said. (*)
