Tin exports rise in July as demand grows

Indonesia?s tin export rise by 10.5 percent in July to 8,870 tons from 8,029.92 tons in June and compared to the same period of last year was is also increased from 8,778.3 tons, on the back of rising demand in the international market.
With the surge in the export volume, export revenues increased by 15.36 percent to US$148.7 million from $128.9 million in June. ?Indonesia?s tin exports rise thanks to surging demand on the international market,? Alberth Josuf Tubogo, the director for export goods at the trade ministry, said in Jakarta last week.
Singapore was the largest buyer of Indonesia?s tin last month, with 6,916.6 tons followed by Malaysia with 916.6 tons, the Netherlands with 270.77 tons and Japan with 233.05 tons. Other buyers included South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, U.S, Hong Kong, Pakistan, India and China. (*)
