Tin logistics center in Bangka Belitung start operation

PT ICDX Logistik Berikat (ILB) officially started the operation of its tin logistics center in Pangkalpinang, Bangka Belitung Province, on Wednesday with a maiden tin export of 75 tons, kontan.co.id reported.

Head of the Pangkalpinang Customs Office, M. Nasrul Fatah said that the tin storage facility forms part of efforts to help realize President Joko Widodo?s ambition to turn Bangka Belitung, the country?s tin production center, to become the world?s largest tin physical trade center. Indonesia is the world?s largest tin exporting country.

?The operation of the ILB as bonded logistics center for tin export will provide certainty and guarantee for overseas buyers as well as support tin futures contract trade held by the Indonesia Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (ICDX),? he said. (*)
