Titan to spud DBD-1 well on Sept. 7

Mitra Energy Limited announced that its majority owned subsidiary Titan Resources (Natuna) Indonesia Ltd., the operator of NE Natuna PSC, will spud the Durian Besar Deep-1 (DBD-1) well within the block on September 7 or September 8.

Mitra stated in a statement that on August 30, the Diamond Offshore owned and operated semi-submersible drilling rig ?Ocean General? left Johor Bahru port assisted by harbor tugs. Soon afterwards, the rig will be under tight tow to the DBD-1 well location.

?The DBD-1 well is targeting the Arang and Gabus sandstone formations,? Mitra said in the statement.

Mitra owns 66.67 percent stake in Titan. GS Caltex Corporation holds the remaining 33.33 percent. Titan holds a 90 percent working interest in the NE Natuna PSC, with PT Binatek Reka Natuna holding the balance.
