The plan of development (PoD) for the unitization of Tiung Biru and Jambaran fields development will wait for the results of put on production (PoP) program on two wells at Tiung Biru, TBR-1 and TBR-2, which are expected to come on stream in October, said PT Pertamina EP.

President Director Syamsu Alam told petromindo.com that the firm is currently conducting test on TBR-3 well, which will be followed by the implementation of PoP program on TBR-1 and TBR-2 . The results of this program will become the basis of the PoD for Tiung Biru-Jembaran unitization development, Syamsu said.

?The results will determine whether this structure will be developed with a gas scenario only, or an oil and gas scenario.?

Tiung Biru field is located within Pertamina EP?s Cepu operations area which is adjacent to the Cepu giant oil and gas block jointly operated by Exxon Mobil Corp's unit Mobil Cepu Limited (MCL) and Pertamina. The Jambaran gas field is located within the Cepu Block, which is operated by MCL.

Pertamina EP has been in talks with Mobil Cepu Ltd over unitization of oil and gas reserves of the two fields. The integration aims to make the development more efficient.

Syamsu was responding to earlier calls made by Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Rudi Rubiandini urging the company to speed up the negotiation process with Exxon and formulation of PoD.

?It is expected that Pertamina to be more serious in completing the unitization negotiation with Exxon, accelerating the PoD,? Rudi told petromindo.com.
