TNB completes FS for transmission line from Sumatra to Malaka

Malaysia?s giant power company, Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) stated that it has completed the feasibility study for the development of a transmission line from Sumatera, Indonesia, to Malaka, in Malaysia.

Mohammaed Nadzir Mohd No, Tenaga Nasional Berhad's Project Manager in Indonesia told Petromindo.com that for this project the company will cooperate with Indonesia?s state-owned utility PT PLN and IDX-listed coal giant PTBA Tbk.

"The transmission line will be built from Peranap, Riau to Malaka and we will have join development agreement with PLN and PTBA," he said on the sidelines of IPP Conference 2016 held by Petromindo.com Thursday.

Mohammed revealed that aside from developing the transmission line, the three companies will develop a coal-fired power plant with tcapacity of 2x600 MW. "Currently we are finalizing the commercial agreement for this project with PLN and PTBA," he said.
