IDX-listed coal firm PT Toba Bara Sejahtra Tbk is confident it could meet this year?s production guidance of 5-6 million tons although output in the first half was less than 50 percent of the full-year target.
Toba President Director Justarina Naiborhu said on Monday that the slower production performance in the January-June period of this year was due to the higher rainfall rate during the period.
?In the first semester (of this year), rainfall was quite heavy, above last year?s average,? she told Petromindo.com, adding that output this year is expected to be around 5 million tons.
Last month, Toba said that 2017 first half production was only 2.3 million tons, slightly less than half of its full-year production guidance of 5-6 million tons.
The company currently has four operating subsidiaries, three in coal mining namely PT Adimitra Baratama Nusantara (ABN), PT Indomining (IM), and PT Trisensa Mineral Utama (TMU) located in East Kalimantan.
