Toba sees 20% coal output hike this year

IDX-listed coal producer PT Toba Bara Sejahtera Tbk forecast its coal production to rise by 10 to 20 percent to 7.2 to 7.8 million ton this year, data from the firm said.

That exceeds the country?s average coal production growth taget for this year of 5 to 10 percent, the company said.

Last year, the PT Toba Bara produced 6.5 million ton of coal, 17 percent higher compared with the outputs at the previous year, it said in an email received by Petromindo.com as saying on Wednesday night.

The firm foresaw lower stripping ratio this year of 12.9 to 13.3x compared with 13.4 in 2013 and 14.9 percent in 2012.

On average selling price, the company expected it to reach US$63.0 to US$67.0 per ton this year compared with US$67.0 to US$70.0 per ton last year and US$72.5 per ton in the previous year.
