Toba Sejahtra?s coal unit selects mine contractor

East Kalimantan coal miner PT Trisensa Mineral Utama (TMU), coal unit of PT Toba Sejahtra is currently picking mine contractor to mine its concession in Kutai Kartanegara regency, the company?s official told Petromindo.com.

?At the present, we are selecting 9 local and foreign contractors candidate and we expect to conclude in the next couple months,? the company official said without giving the name of the contractors.

We will start coal production once the mine contractor will be appointed, the official said.

Trisensa is projected to become the backbone of Toba?s coal arm. Toba expects to start Trisensa coal production in mid 2011 with initial out 30,000 tonnes per month and it will ramp up to 2 million tonnes per annum in 2012.

One of the local contractors, PT CMS Kaltim Utama has confirmed to Petromindo.Com that CMS is eyeing the mine contractor for Trisensa coal mine, the company?s official said, without giving the when the winner will be announced.(denny)
