Toba Sejahtra to ramp up production

East Kalimantan coal mining group PT Toba Sejahtra is targeting production increase to 9 million tonnes in 2011 from its five mines from 6.3 million tonnes this year, a company official said on Monday.

Senior Official Ray Pasik told Petromindo.Com that the company?s mine consisted of PT.Adimitra Baratama Nusantara which is set to produce 3.5 million tonnes (MT) this year, PT Indomining (1.2MT), PT Kimco Armindo ( 1.3MT), PT Kutai Energi (0.3MT) and PT Trisena, which will start production early next year with capacity of 0.5MT.

All mines are located in Kutai Kartanegara regency.

Ray said next year Adimitra will increase production to 5MT and Kutai Energi will increase to 1MT. production from Indomining and Kimco will remain flat next year as they have reached full capacity, he said.

Ray said the Group produces coal with CV range of 5,800-6,150 kcal/kg (ADB) with most of the production exported to China, Japan and Korea.

Toba Sejahtra is controlled by Luhut Panjaitan, a respected retired army general. (denny)
