Today, Energy Minister inaugurates PLTU Jeneponto

Energy and Mineral Resources Jero Wacik is scheduled to inaugurate Wednesday (today) the operation of the first unit of PLTU Jeneponto coal-fired power plant in South Sulawsi in a ceremony which will also be attended by former vice president Jusuf Kalla and Chinese ambassador to Indonesia, Liu Jian Chao.

The new power plant, which has capacity of 2 x 125 megawatt, is the first of the two units of power plants to be built and operated by PT Bosowa Energy, a joint venture between Bosowa Group and PT Sumberenergi Sakti Prima (SSP).

?The fist unit of PLTU Jeneponto is built at a total cost of US$250 million. The construction lasts for about 24 months,? the president director of Bosowa Erwin Aksa, said.

He said his company would soon build the second unit of PLTU Jeneponto power plant following the commercial operation of the plant?s first unit. Bosowa will invest up to Rp 3 trillion for the construction of the second unit. (*)
