Tohoku sign LNG supply contract with Pertamina

Japan's power utilities Tohoku Electric Power Co. said Tuesday it has signed a contract with stated owned oil and gas company PT Pertamina for liquefied natural gas supplies.
Tohoku Electric Power Co. will buy 120,000 metric tons a year of LNG from BP-operated Tangguh project for 15 years from 2010, the company said in a statement.
Currently almost all of the Tangguh?s first phase designed capacity of 7.6 MTPA is already contracted to Chinese, US and South Korean buyers. Tangguh LNG project, which is located in the easternmost province of Papua, is scheduled to commence production in 2008. (*)
