Upstream oil, gas authority BPMIGAS said on Monday that Japan?s firm Tohoku Electric Power Co. would sign Gas Sales Agreement (GSA) this month for 120,000 TPA of LNG from BP-operated Tangguh LNG project in Papua.
BPMIGAS Chairman R. Priyono said the deal is now being finalized.
Tohoku said in May 2008 that it would lift the LNG starting 2010 for 15 years.
Tangguh is due to produce 7.6 million tonnes of LNG a year from two trains. Operator BP Plc holds a 37.16 percent stake. The project?s first shipment is scheduled to start in April 2009. (Bernard)
