Tokyo Gas opens Jakarta office

Japanese firm Tokyo Gas Co. Ltd. announced Thursday it has on March 10 opened a representative office in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The opening up of the Jakarta office comes after it opened an office Hanoi, Vietnam, as the company seeks to expand its business and investment activities in Southeast Asia region.
In February, Tokyo Gas signed an MoU with Indonesia?s state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina to form a strategic alliance on LNG supply chain business.
The cooperation between the two firms comprises of LNG sales and purchase, exchange of LNG cargoes for optimization of LNG stock level, optimizing the utilization of LNG vessels, and the development of LNG regasification and receiving terminals.
The collaboration also covers the development of LNG infrastructure facilities, gas-fired power plants, and gas market.
Elsewhere, Tokyo Gas said it plans to open up an office in Bangkok, Thailand, this year.
