Tonga block first PoD approved

Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Jero Wacik has approved the first Plan of Development(PoD) for Tonga block, located onshore North Sumatra, according to upstream authority BPMIGAS Chairman R. Priyono.
It is expected that the block, operated by PT Energi Mega Persada?s unit PT Mosesa Petroleum, would come on stream within a year, with initial production targeted at between 1,600 and 1,800 barrels of oil per day (bopd).
Haposan Napitupulu, Deputy of Development at BPMIGAS, said that the block could reach its peak production of around 5,000 bopd in about 2 years after first production.
Located between Dumai and Sibolga in Sumatra, the Tonga PSC covers 2,607 km2 and was awarded in 2007 for 30 years.
