Total carries out seismic work at North West Tunu field

The 18-month seismic activity covers an area of 600 ha in two villages in Kutai Kartanegara Regency, East Kalimantan.

Bhawono that the company has been carrying out seismic activity every year using the latest technology and equipment in a bid to maintain production at the Mahakam Block. ?Total as an energy company carries out exploration (work) and seeks new oil and gas sources. Every year we drill about 100 new wells to maintain oil and gas production,? he explained.
Data recording from the seismic work will be carried out in the second week of December 2012.
Production at the Mahakam Block currently stands at 486,000 barrel oil equivalent per day. Production at the block is expected to last until 2020.(*)
