Total, Chevron get license for opening gas stations

Director for the downstream oil and gas business development at the directorate general of the oil and gas of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Erie Soedarmo said in Jakarta that Total and Chevron had also consulted with the downstream oil and gas regulatory body, BPH Migas regarding their plan to build several gas stations in Jakarta.
Meanwhile, director for fuel at BPH Migas Adi Subagyo said that Total would build five gas stations in Jakarta and surrounding area . While, Chevron will build four gas stations. ?They have already bought land in a strategic location,? he said.
Building one gas station needs an estimated investment of US$2.5 million. ?The investment does not include the cost for constructing or renting a tank. Total will probably rent the tank owned by PT Aneka Kimia Raya (AKR),? he said.
BPH Migas? head Tubagus Haryono said that Total?s Refining & Marketing Strategy Development Senior Project Manager Pascal Rigaud had come to Indonesia discussed the plan with BPH Migas. (*)
