Total EP Indonesie, the operator of the Mahakam block in East Kalimantan, has installed three new wellhead platforms in their respective positions in Sisi, Nubi, and Peciko fields within the block, hoping that it would help arrest production decline at the block.
?All have been installed in their respective positions. They?re expected to be ready for drilling in the first quarter of 2014, or around January 2014. On stream is expected in the second quarter of 2014,? Head of Media Relations at Total EP Indonesie, Kristanto Hartadi told Petromindo.com Monday.
The company began in August the process of installing the three new wellhead platforms (namely WPS2 in Sisi field, WPN3 in Nubi field, and SWP-J in Peciko field) together with 18 km interconnection pipelines to three existing platforms on each field.
Kristanto explained that the three platforms plus the interconnection lines of the Sisi Nubi 2B and Peciko 7B projects were designed to help arrest production decline in the Mahakam block, which has currently reached the mature stage.
He said that the production capacity of the WPS 2 platform at the Sisi field with 19 development wells is 200 mmscfd; while the capacity of the WPN 3 platform in the Nubi field with 14 development well is 150 mmscfd; and the capacity of the SWP-J platform in the Peciko field with 14 wells is 170 mmscfd.
?Meanwhile, another platform for SMK 3 (South Mahakam phase 3) is currently being developed at the Meindo Yard, Handil, Muara Jawa District, Kukar Regency. It will be on stream in the second semester of 2014,? Kristanto said, adding that all of these developments are aimed at arresting the production decline in Mahakam block.
