Total confirms the death of Chairman and CEO Christophe de Margerie

Total E&P Indonesie announced on Tuesday that Chairman and CEO Total SA Christophe de Margerie died just after 10 PM Paris time on Oct. 20 (03 AM Jakarta time on Oct. 21) in a private airplane plane crash at Vnukovo Airport in Moscow, following a collision with a snow removal machine.

Four people were found dead at the scene of the accident, including three crew members and Christophe de Margerie.

?We have lost a visionary leader of the Oil & Gas Industry, a great leader of Total, as well as an extraordinary person with a deep sense of humanism and humor,? said President Director and General Manager of Total E&P Indonesie, Hardy Pramono.

?We have also lost a real friend of Indonesia who has always strived to maintain and develop our activities for the benefit of Indonesia and its people,? he added.

?The thoughts of the management and employees of Total E&P Indonesie go out to Christophe de Margerie?s wife, children and loved ones as well as to the families of the three other victims,? he said.
