Total E&P Indonesie in East Kalimantan has denied the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry ‘s (Kadin’s) accusation that the requirement for its labor procurement tender was made only to favor certain bidders.
The company’s spokesperson Vita Dharmawan said on Monday that the requirement that a bidder should have a working experience of two years was based on the Manpower Minister’s Decree No 150 year of 2000.
Kadin recently sent a letter to the oil and gas company questioning the change in the tender procedure. The organization protested the tender procedure following the complain made by local manpower suppliers who said that the two-year working experience requirement was imposed by Total to allow certain bidders CB RB, PT CUB and CE HE to win the tender.
In its letter Kadin also suggested Total to impose the working experience of at least 10 years. (*)
