Total E&P Indonesie awards contract to BJ Tubular Services

Aberdeen-based-BJ Tubular Services today announced Thursday that it has been awarded a two-year contract to provide hydraulic hammer conductor-driving services in Indonesia by Total E & P Indonesie.

The contract award calls for BJ Tubular Services to drive conductor pipe on Total's assets in Tunu, Tambora and Handil fields located offshore Balikpapan, East Kalimantan.

BJ Tubular Services is driving conductor pipe to a penetration of 125 meters below mudline. To achieve this, BJ uses its hydraulic pile driving system known as the S90 Hydrohammer.

Although the two-year contract will commence in January 2006, BJ has already driven conductor pipe on 80 of an estimated 230+ wells scheduled to receive this service by the end of December 2007.

Currently, BJ Tubular Services is fulfilling 24-month contract with Total Indonesie to supply casing and tubing running services on the company's assets in the Tunu, Tambora and Peciko fields. Previously, BJ Tubular Services provided casing and tubing running services to Total offshore Balikpapan, Indonesia from 2000 to 2001 in the Tunu North field.

BJ Tubular Services specialises in personnel and equipment for running casing and tubing, particularly premium connections, high chrome content tubulars, dual, triple and sub-sea completions, as well as hammer conductor-driving services.(alex)
