The tender launched by PT Total E&P Indonesia to lease tens of diesel cars has drawn criticism from a number of car distributors who said that the tender was unfair because it was intended only to certain car name, Kaltim Post daily reported on Tuesday.
"If you see the technical specification required by the company, it is clear that the tender is especially intended to Isuzu Panther car," one of the tender participant said, adding that the company's requirement for particular CC capacity of 2,499 had technically blocked the opportunities of other car names.
PT Total, however, denied the charge saying that the auction participants could offer diesel car with engine capacity of above 2,499 CC. "It is fair and the participants can offer CC capacity of above 2,499. The important things in the tender is the performance of the car and its price," the head of the company's communication department, Vita Darmawan. (*)
