Total E&P to raise gas supply for domestic market in 2012

PT Total E&P Indonesie, a subsidiary of French Total, will raise gas supply for domestic market to 30 percent in 2012, from 20 percent in 2011, a company official said.

President Director of Total E&P Indonesie, Elisabeth Proust said the rise of gas allocation for the domestic market is a commitment of the company to support industrial customers in Indonesia and provide larger contribution to domestic economy.

She said Total has a long-term investment commitment in Indonesia. Over the next five years, Total will continue to ramp up its gas production from 400 MMSCFD at present.

?The rise of production can be done through utilization of advanced recovery technology on old wells as well as new wells,? Proust was quoted by Investor Daily as saying.

Among major buyers of Total gas production are PT Pupuk Kaltim, PT Kaltim Daya Mandiri, PT Kaltim Pasifik Amoniak, PT Kaltim Parna Industri, PT Kaltim Methanol Industri, PT Pupuk Iskandar Muda, PT Nusantara Regas and PT PLN.(*)
