Total encounters ?dry? result in Rendang-1X drilling

French oil and gas firm Total E&P Indonesia said that the results of deep water exploration drilling at the Rendang 1X well in the Bengkulu 1-Mentawai exploration block were not good.
?It?s dry,? Total E&P Asia Pacific President Jean-Marie Guillermou was quoted Saturday by Kompas as saying. She did not provide further details.
The well is located offshore Bengkulu Province, at about 75 km off shoreline Bengkulu, in approximately 1,000 meters water depth in an area with strong seismicity. This well will be drilled by Ocean Monarch Semi-Submersible rig.
The block is 100 percent owned by Total E&P through subsidiary Total E&P Indonesia Mentawai BV which was awarded with the block contract on October 2012. (*)
