Total hands over community development projects worth Rp 1.1 billion

Oil and gas firm PT Total Indonesie handed over on Monday nine community development projects worth Rp 1.1 billion (US$1=Rp 9,400) to the people of the Muara Jawa sub district, East Kalimantan.

The handing over ceremony was participated by Speaker of the East Kalimantan provincial House of Representatives Djarwo Putro and other local administration officials, the local Kaltim Post daily reported.

The paper said that the largest project, costing Rp 340 million, was the development of the M. Thahir Street.

The paper also said that Total, together with oil and gas firms Vico Indonesia and PT Exspan had cooperated with the Kutai district-owned water company called PDAM to develop a clean water facility for the Muara Jawa sub district. The project is also sponsored by the Asian Development Bank. (*)
