Total: Mahakam block on track to meet production target

Gas production at the Mahakam block, in East Kalimantan, which is operated by French oil and gas firm Total E&P Indonesie, is on track to meet this year?s target of 1,300 mmscfd, said a senior official of the firm.

"We can still meet our gas production target in Mahakam this year which was set at 1,300 mmscfd," VP Authorization Coordination, Communication, and External Affairs Total E&P Indonesie Agus Suprijanto told Petromindo.com, in Balikpapan, Thursday.

He added that the company's oil production has reached 50,000 bopd.

Total now still operates six production field in the block and one rig, he said. Total?s contract over the Mahakam block is set to expire end of this year. State-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina will takeover the block next year.
