PT Total Oil Indonesia, the downstream unit of French-based energy firm PT Total E&P Indonesie, has launched the operation of its eighth gas station in the Greater Jakarta area, and plans to build seven more this year in the region.

The new gas station is located on Jl. Tendean in South Jakarta.

Company brand and communication manager Rulianti Syahrul was also considering opening outlets outside the Greater Jakarta area.

Investment for each gas station is estimated at US$2 million, she said.

Total opened a total of five gas stations in 2009, two in 2010 in the region.

Aside from selling fuels at gas stations, the firm also sells lubricants and petrochemicals in the domestic market.(giok)
