Total plans to open 5 gas stations in next 4 months

Total Oil Indonesia said that it plans to set up five gasoline stations in Indonesia in the next four months in a bid to strengthen its penetration in the country?s oil downstream sector, The Jakarta Post reported.

The company?s vice president for retail, consumer sales and supply chain, Asif Iqbal, said that four stations would be built in Greater Jakarta, while the remaining station would be situated in Bogor, West Java.

?We also plan to open outlets in big cities outside Greater Jakarta, like Bandung and Surabaya, but we may do this after opening the five planned stations,? he said.

The company spends between US$1.5 million and $2 million to set up each station, he said.

?This year, we?ve spent $10 million on expansion. Currently, each outlet sells between 5,000 and 8,000 liters of gasoline per day.? (*)
