Total resumes production from E. Kalimantan gas fields

Indonesian unit of French energy giant Total SA has resumed operation from its two major gas fields in Mahakam PSC block East Kalimantan that have been stopped due to planned maintenance, an official with upstream oil, gas authority BPMIGAS said on Wednesday.

Spokesperson Gde Padnyana told Petromindo.Com that the Sisi-Nubi and Tunu fields resumed production since Tuesday, a few days later than scheduled, and gas and condensate output will gradually ramp up to normal level. He did not say when the normal production level will be achieved.

According to Gde, production stoppage at both fields has caused production loss of around 532 MMCFD of gas and 13,200 BPD of condensate.

Normally, Mahakam block, which is the main gas supplier to Bontang LNG plant, produces 2.4BCFD of gas and around 85,000 BPD of condensate.

Total E&P Indonesia is the operator of Mahakam PSC block with 50 percent interest with the balance held by Japan?s Inpex Corp.(godang)
