Total's maintenance to be completed soon
National oil output to get back to normal level

French firm Total S.A. has shut down its Peciko field of the Mahakam Block in East Kalimantan for routine maintenance but it will soon resume operation, bringing back the national oil ouput to normal level, according to a senior governmental official.
Director General of Oil and Gas Evita H Legowo said on Tuesday the Peciko field was expected to resume operation on Wednesday.
As a result of the Peciko shutdown, the country's oil output now hovered around 940,000 barrels per day (bpd) but the output is expected to get back the normal level of around 960,000 bpd once Peciko resumed production, Evita said.
Amir Hamzah, the spokesman of oil and gas authority BPMIGAS, admitted there is a "small production trouble" at Peciko but overall, the national oil output stood at 961,869 bpd until the end of February, while the gas output at 7,790 MMCFD. (Godang)
