Ananda said the new production record, if sustainable, would give Total more flexibility to increase gas supply to Badak LNG plant in Bontang, also in East Kalimantan. Ananda said Total’s supply commitment to Bontang currently stands at 2.4 BCFD.
Ananda did not give detail from which fields production increase came from.
Total is the operator of giant Mahakam PSC in the swampy area of East Kalimantan. Total and Japan’s Inpex has 50 percent working interest each in the block.
