PT Total Oil Indonesia, a local unit of France-based Total, is seeking to acquire a coal concession in South Kalimantan to cater to rising demand overseas particularly for power plants.

A source within the company told Petromnindo.com that talks have been on going with the owner of a concession since last year. The source, however, declined to disclose the specific location of the concession.

The company has been involved in supporting the mining industry by selling lubricants and fuel for heavy equipment in the mining sector.
