Total seeks to sell gas to Kutai power plant

Total Indonesie, the subsidiary of French energy giant Total S.A., is negotiating to supply natural gas to a power plant to be built in Kutai Kertanegara regency, East Kalimantan.

Roy Karamoy, the firm's lead negotiator, said on Thursday the power plant with an installed capacity of between 80 and 100 Megawatt (MW), will be built by PT Kutai Energy, partily owned by the regency.

The power plant needs 20 million cubic feet per day (MMCFD) of natural gas, according to Roy.

"The negoitation is leading to the signing of a Heads of Agreeement (HoA)," he said. (Alex)
