TEPI President Director Elizabeth Proust told parliemantary hearing in Jakarta on Wednesday that liquid production will also be down to 75,000 BPD from the targeted production of 86,000 BPD in 2011.
According to Proust, until May 2011, TEP has exceeded production target set in the work program and budget (WP&B) as it has produced 2.392 BCFD of gas and 89,000 BPD of condensate. In 2010, TEPI produced 2.488 BCFD of gas.
Total is Indonesia?s gas producer with most of production is sent to Bontang LNG plant.
In her presentation Proust said that in the future, liquid production from Mahakam will likely continue to decline as 75 percent of its liquid production is derived from gas and currently, production from shallow gas which contains less liquid is increasing.
According to Proust, the main challenge for TEPI is to maintain production from mature fields which are faced with technical challenges such as sand intrusion and low pressure.(godang)
