Total starts up new pipeline in Mahakam
Monday, August 3 2015 - 03:16 PM WIB
Both oil and gas fields are part of Mahakam PSC operated by TEPI (50% participating interest) and Inpex (50%).
?We are very satisfied, because the whole activities -- from service and material procurement, engineering, fabrication, installation, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up-- have been performed safely, with zero Lost Time of Injury, in a professional manner,? told Hardy Pramono, President & General Manager of TEPI., said in a statement on Monday.
He added that this start up was one week ahead schedule compared to the RFSU commitment of Aug. 1, 2015 as stated in FID approval. ?It contributes to save around US$10 million,? he said.
This new 60 MMSCFD capacity pipeline will de-bottleneck the existing Bekapai 12? Bekapai-Senipah pipeline, in order to increase Bekapai gas export capacity for future production.
Thanks to the new pipeline, gas production from Bekapai has been increased to 49 MMSCFD since July 29, 2015 and estimated can reach 75 MMSCFD after well service intervention by end of July 2015.
Such milestone can only be achieved by strong commitment, professionalism and excellent collaboration from all entities involved.
In addition to the above pipeline package completion, Bekapai Phase 2B Project is also progressing well on its platforms modification package which has completed BA, PP, BG, and SWP-K Platforms modification through 7 safe SIMOPS (Simultaneous Operation) involving more than 120 tie-ins points and shorter shutdown duration (11 days total optimization). After this modification, BG Platform will be able to receive 5 new wells through 3 new wells slots on the extended platform. Currently, Bekapai 2B is progressing on the last offshore campaign at BL Platform.
The main challenge of this project is that the activities are done on live platforms (SIMOPS) while maintaining good production of Bekapai field without compromising safety, as well as to minimize production shortfall, and project cost optimization.
The next expected milestone of the project is the new wells POP (Put On Production) at BL and BG Platforms. Two wells have been drilled at BL Platform and will be put on production by mid September 2015. Four wells will be drilled at BG Platform with first gas estimated in early December 2015. Bekapai Phase 2B project will increase the gas production to 90 MMSCFD and maintain the oil production 12,430 BOD. It will make significant contributions to TEPI?s yearly target productions of 1,700 MMSCFD for gas and 56,000 BOD for oil and condensate.
