Total E&P Indonesie plans to develop the Stupa and Jumelai gas fields discovered last year in South Mahakam PSC in East Kalimantan, according to a governmental source.
A source at oil and gas upstream authority BPMIGAS said on Thursday that the firm had planned to bring both fields into production in the fourth quarter of 2011 or early 2012.
"The fields are now under basic engineering," the source said.
Both fields will produce 250 million cubic feet per day (MMCFD) of gas that will be delivered to the Senipah gas processing facility through a 67-km long pipeline. The processed gas will be then transported to the Badak LNG plant in Bontan, East Kalimantan as additional gas supplies.
The fields are equally owned by Total and Japanese firm Inpex. (Alex)
