French super major Total SA is eyeing to farm-in Warim exploration block onshore Papua, Bisnis Indonesia daily reported on Monday.

The report quoted Total Exploration and Production President Yves-Louis Darricarrere as saying that deal is expected to be sealed this year.

The report did not give further detail.

Currently the block is operated by US firm ConocoPhillips which has 80 percent interest in the block. The remaining balance is held by Australian firm Santos Limited.

The block is bordered by the Lorentz National Park on the west, which was put on the World Heritage list by the United Nations of Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in 1999 and therefore drilling activities are prohibited. (*)
