Total to open two more fuel stations by August

French oil giant Total S.A through its Indonesia unit PT Total Oil Indonesia plans to open two more gasoline stations in greater Jakarta area in July or August this year following the recent operation of the company?s first two stations on Jl Daan Mogot and in Jl. MT Haryono.

Rulianti Syahrul of the company?s brand and communication manager said in Jakarta on Monday that the two stations were currently being built in the satellite town of Bumi Serpong Damai (BSD) in Tangerang and Warung Buncit, South Jakarta.

She said that the opening of the two new gasoline stations would be part of the company?s expansion plan in the country?s growing retail fuel market especially for the sales of non-subsidized fuels.

According to Rulianti, the public response to the company?s retail service is quite encouraging as indicted in the sales volume recorded in the newly opened stations. She said that Total had recorded sales of 5,000 liters per day in the two gasoline stations.

Total sells three types of non-subsidized fuels in its outlets including Performance 95 at a price of Rp 6,500 per liter, Performance 92 at a price of Rp 5,900 and Performance Diesel at a price of Rp 6,900 per liter.

Thierry Pflimlin, the senior vice president for refining and marketing of Total Oil Asia Pacific, said on March 24, 2009 that the two outlets were part of five fuel stations to be opened by the company this year. ?Our target is to build 200 fuel stations in the next five years,? he said. (godang)
