Oil and gas producer TotalFinaElf E&P Indonesie said Thursday that the drilling of its TN-C9 well in East Kalimantan?s Tunu field might resume in about two weeks as the flow of gas and water at the well had stopped.

?The flow has died so drilling may resume in two weeks,? company spokesman Ananda Idris told Petromindo.Com.

Shallow gas release incident occurred Monday at 10:00 hours local time on TN-C9 well in Tunu field which is located in East Kalimantan?s Mahakam River Delta. Neither casualties nor injuries were reported during the incident.

TotalFinaElf?s workers succeeded to move ENSCO-1 drilling rig to a safe location around 400 meters from the troubled well.

The company said that the gas and water flow had subsided Tuesday at 6 a.m.

TotalFinaElf currently produces 1.4 billion standard cubic feet per day (BSCFD) of gas from Tunu out of an overall production of 2.4 BSCF. It supplies gas to the Bontang LNG plant in East Kalimantan. (godang)
