Total E&P Indonesie West Papua (TEPI) is ready to drill one well in the South West Bird?s Head oil block in West Papua Province in 2013, a company senior official said.
?The name of the well is Anggrek Hitam #1. Currently, (we) have just completed the UKL/UPL (environmental baseline studies) by involving the University of Papua, which has been running very well,? TEPI West Papua District Manager Avep Disasmita told Petromindo.com on Monday.
He added that TEPI has also made social campaign efforts in five districts in Papua to explain to the local communities about the planned seismic and drilling activities in West Papua. ?Total has conducted topographic survey there,? he said.
TEPI West Papua holds 100 percent participating interest in the SW Bird?s Head block. The block is located in the on-shore area of the Salawati Basin, West Papua, covering an area of 7,176 square kilometers.
