TotalFinaElf eyeing E. Java exploration block

French oil major TotalFinaElf said it might be interested in acquiring new exploration block(s) in East Java in the next round of exploration blocks tender which is scheduled to be opened sometimes next year.

?We are making studies about acquiring East Java exploration block,? said TotalFinaElf E&P Indonesie president Roland Festor.

Exploration success stories and hunger for gas supply had made East Java a hot area for exploration. E&P companies are reportedly eyeing next year?s tender, which will offer mostly blocks that are located in Java. (alex)
