TotalFinaElf?s Tunu phase 8 gas plant to be commissioned soon

French oil and gas firm TotalFinaElf E&P Indonesie said on Thursday the commissioning of its Tunu Field Development Project Phase 8 gas processing plant in East Kalimantan will be completed within three weeks.

Company spokesman Ananda Idris said the operation of the Tunu Phase 8 would help guarantee TotalFinaElf?s gas supply to the liquefied natural gas plant in Bontang, East Kalimantan.

Ananda admitted his company?s gas production had been below the normal level due to troubles on its gas pipelines over the past few months.

TotalFinalElf is among East Kalimantan gas producers which supply natural gas to PT Badak NGL?s LNG plant in Bontang, East Kalimantan.

The Tunu Field is a gas and condensate field located on the outer margin of the Mahakam river delta in East Kalimantan, partially onshore in swamp areas and partially in shallow waters.

The company also operates gas processing plants on Peciko gas fields in the vicinity of Tunu fields. (godang)
