The administration of the Pasir regency in East Kalimantan has stopped the coal mining activities of PT Tetramas Prima Coal (TPC) in the regency's Muara Sumu district for not having a permit, Kaltim Post reported on Friday.
"TPC will not be allowed to continue its mining activities until the company obtains the permit from the government," said Asmaran, the spokesman for the Pasir regency administration.
TPC operates a coal mining area in Libur Dinding village of the Muara Subu district as the subcontractor of PT Selatan Sebara, which controls the mining rights in the area. TPC, however, had begun the mining activities although PT Selatan Sebara had not yet received a license from the local government.
Asmaran said that PT Selatan Sebara was in the process of obtaining the required license.(*)
