President Director Amir Sambodo said on Wednesday that TPI is currently in talks to secure 60,000-70,000 BPD of sour condensate from Qatari supplier to meet requirement of its existing plant and another 100,000 BPD supply for its planned expansion.
He did not disclose the name of the Qatari supplier.
TPI requires 100,000 BPD of condensate to operate at full capacity, but currently only gets 30,000-40,000 BPD of Senipah sweet condensate supply.
TPI is planning to expand capacity of its plant by another 2.6 MTPA capacity with investment of U$500 million. Amir said the plant would also be able to produce 50,000 BPD of fuel such as kerosene, diesel and gasoline. ?The expansion will improve TPI?s economics of scale,? he said.
Amir said talks had been ongoing with state oil and gas company PT Pertamina to jointly develop the expanded plant. Pertamina has 15% stake in TPI.(bernard)
