Trade ministry to issue more policies supporting mining downstream activity

Trade Minister Gita Wirjawan said that his ministry would establish more policies to speed up the process of raising added-value of mineral ores through processing and smelting.

He said that regulations required to smooth importation, exportation and domestic trade would be issued to guarantee the supply and distribution of capital and supporting equipments for the smelting.

"We support the supply of capital and supporting equipments as it supports the spirit of investment for increasing added value of mining products," he told Petromindo.com at the State Palace.

"Going forward, we will gradually establish (more) policies to support effort to create added value for (unprocessed) mining products here," said Gita.
