Trafigura achieves coal trading volume target

Coal trading firm PT Trafigura Indonesia said it has achieved its coal trading volume target of 17 million tons in the financial year ending September.

?This year, (the target) is around 17 million tons. The target has been achieved,? said Bob Kamandanu, CEO of Trafigura to Petromindo.com on Tuesday.

He said that in the previous financial year, the company sold around 12 million tons of coal. He said that the higher trading volume in this financial year was attributed to higher demand from customers.

Bob said that the company?s coal sales were mostly destined for the China (40 percent) and India (30 percent) markets, while the remainders went to Taiwan, the Philippines, Malaysia and other countries.
