Transocean obtains new contract from Inpex

Offshore drilling rig provider Transocean Limited announced Tuesday it has obtained a new one-year drilling work contract from oil and gas firm Inpex Corp.
The company said in a statement it will deploy the Discoverer Seven Seas rig to carry out drilling work at a water depth of 7,000 feet, and drilling depth of 25,000 feet.
It added that the new contract worth US$500,000 per day, which will expire in June of next year, is an extension of the previous $490,000 per day contract.
