Transocean wins drilling contract from Total Indonesie

Houston-based drilling company Transocean Inc. reported it had secured a 5-year contract to carry out drilling campaign at Total E&P Indonesie’s fields in East Kalimantan.
According to Transocean’s recent Fleet Update report, the drilling campaign is scheduled to be started by July this year and it would use the Searex 4 with a day-rate amount of US$39,200.
The Searex 4 is a pontoon supported swamp barge drilling unit capable of operating in water depths up to 21 ft with maximum drilling depths up to 16,000 ft.
Another Transocean’s drilling barge, the Hibiscus, commenced operation at Total’s field in January for a 3-year contract with a day-rate amount of $47,700. (robert)
